This course is designed to provide non-native speakers of English with a knowledge of grammatical structures that improves academic communication. Emphasis is on using grammatical structures in meaningful contexts through exercises integrating the use of newly acquired structures with previously learned structures.
Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate improved proficiency, comprehension and grammatical accuracy.
Introduction to English Language - Grupo 1 - PEII-PR
This course provides the student with essential vocabulary and grammar to express themselves accordingly in each situation. The objective of Introduction to English Language is to get learners to acquire the correct grammar basic set of structural rules which influences the composition of clauses, phrases, and words in English. Basic Grammar rules can share a systematic study and description of a language, and it helps us understand how words and their component parts combine to form sentences. When a message is relayed with the correct grammar, it is easier to understand the purpose and meaning of that message. In order to communicate, a learner should know the grammar of the language. It is important to be able to express yourself; however, this should be done in a way that people find easy to understand.
As future English teachers, students should develop writing proficiency with correct grammar to be able to teach and guide their students’ productive skills.
